Hello, my name is Kyle Matthew Moore and I would like to say how thankful I am to call the Alleghany Highlands home. I have lived here for 26 years with my family and we love this community. I have been a member of the Virginia State Police as a Trooper and a Sergeant during that time. I also served in the U.S. Army and retired in 2017 as a Master Sergeant.

Press Release for June 28, 2026

On June 27, 2026 Deputies from the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office were notified of a situation at 100 Nicholas Drive involving child abuse and domestic abuse.

After a lengthy investigation warrants were obtained for 4 felony and 3 misdemeanor offenses.

On June 28, 2026 members of the Alleghany County Regional Emergency Response Team were called out to serve warrants on Smith due to statements Smith had made about using firearms to cause further violence, but prior to arrival at the residence Smith was arrested by Alleghany County Sheriff’s Deputies.

Smith is being held at the Alleghany County Regional Jail without bond.

Verizon wireless will not call you and offer you a 30% discount if you will pay your next months bill in advance.
Do not confirm anything with these people.
If you want to know if someone is giving you a discount, call them and ask.
