Hello, my name is Kyle Matthew Moore and I would like to say how thankful I am to call the Alleghany Highlands home. I have lived here for 26 years with my family and we love this community. I have been a member of the Virginia State Police as a Trooper and a Sergeant during that time. I also served in the U.S. Army and retired in 2017 as a Master Sergeant.

On Friday we learned of a young Appomattox county Deputy that was killed in the line of duty. While on his way home he stopped to assist someone at the scene of a traffic crash and was struck by another vehicle. May his service to the citizens of Appomattox County and the Commonwealth of Virginia never be forgotten.
