Hello, my name is Kyle Matthew Moore and I would like to say how thankful I am to call the Alleghany Highlands home.  I have lived here for 26 years with my family and we love this community.  I have been a member of the Virginia State Police as a Trooper and a Sergeant during that time.  I also served in the U.S. Army and retired in 2017 as a Master Sergeant.

My wife works for the Alleghany Highlands Public Schools as a Teachers Aide.  We have two beautiful daughters, Leanne and husband Dustin Posey, Larissa and husband Dominique Jordan.  We also have three beautiful grand daughters Remington, Rain, and Rynn.

My family loves this community, we work, worship and go to school here,

I have been a leader of Soldiers and Troopers since 1992 and look forward to the opportunity to lead the Sheriff's office in the future.  I believe I have fresh ideas that will re-establish community trust in your Sheriff's office.  I will also re-institute accountability among the employees of the ACSO.  I will hold my supervisors accountable for their decisions as well as their subordinate's decisions.  I expect you as citizens to hold me accountable as well.

I will make myself available to the citizens through an open-door policy that will encourage citizens to speak with me and my staff openly.

I will not place politics or personal agendas before the citizens of Alleghany County or the employees of the Sheriff's office.  No one will work harder than I will to make Alleghany a safer place for you to work, live, and raise a family.

I look forward to meeting with you in the near future so that we can discuss these and many other ideas in depth.  I will gladly make myself available at community events and public meetings to listen to your issues.
