The Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office wants to take a moment to congratulate one of our own, who has made the decision to move to the next step in his career. Captain Chris Fisher has accepted a position with the Alleghany Highlands Public Schools as the safety and security director. The Sheriff’s Office wishes Chris and his family nothing short of a great and prosperous journey. Chris has been an incredible asset to this office.

During his time here he has served as a Patrol Deputy, School Resource Officer, DARE coordinator where he was awarded the Virginia DARE officer of the year and many other duties. He served as the Chief Deputy for a short period of time and finished his time with the Sheriff’s Office as the Administrative Division Commander.

Chris will continue to serve the citizens of Alleghany County, but in a different capacity.

He will be greatly missed, but as Proverbs 16:9 says, “the heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps”.
