Sheriff Kyle Moore is pleased to welcome citizens to join his staff in clean up! Specifically, you can help clean up on Monday, April 15 from 4:30 to 7:30 and Saturday, April 27 from 10 to 1.

The area selected this time for cleanup is the road side of Route 159 starting at Stonewell gas station. Please meet at Stonewall gas station at 4:15 if possible, on April 15 and at 9:30 on April 27, for your clean up section assignment. You do not need to be present the entire time. Any amount of time will help improve our community. If you cannot come to this location or at this time, please clean up in your own community, take a photo of the cleanup effort and send pictures to the Alleghany County Sheriff’s office facebook page.

For your safety, deputies’ will have lights flashing during the times listed. Please use caution when driving through this area at these times. Additionally, safety vest and grab sticks will be provided as long as the supply last. Bags and gloves will also be provided as well as water to drink.
