We had a wonderful turnout today for the 1st Annual Sheriffs Office Block Party. The food and music was great.
The games were a lot of fun and it seemed that everyone had a great time. We are estimating that at least 350 people came by. We will give some big shout outs later when we get the entire list.

May we never forget 9/11

Twenty-five years ago, on September 11, 2001, our nation suffered one of the darkest days in its history. A cowardly terrorist attack claimed the lives of 2,996 innocent Americans and forever changed our country. In the days, months, and years that followed, thousands of brave first responders, military members, and volunteers answered the call to serve others, often at great personal sacrifice.
Today, we also remember those who have suffered and died from illnesses related to their response efforts. More than 50,000 individuals have been diagnosed with 9/11-related health conditions, and thousands have lost their lives as a result of their service. Their sacrifice must never be forgotten.
For many of us, September 11 is not just a chapter in a history book. It is a day we lived through. We remember where we were when we heard the news. We remember the images, the fear, the uncertainty, and the overwhelming sense of loss. We also remember something else: the strength and unity of the American people.
When our nation was attacked, Americans stood together. We set aside our differences and rallied around our shared values of freedom, courage, service, and love of country. We witnessed extraordinary acts of heroism from ordinary citizens, first responders, law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency personnel, and members of our armed forces who placed themselves in harm's way to help others.

As we pause to reflect on this solemn anniversary, I encourage each of you to take a moment to remember those who were lost, honor those who served, and pray for the families who continue to carry the pain of that day. Let us also remember the men and women who have given their lives defending our nation in the years since.
The lessons of September 11 remain as important today as they were then. We must never take our freedom for granted. We must remain vigilant, support one another, and stand united as Americans. While we may not always agree on every issue, our love for this country and our commitment to preserving it must always come first.
Let us honor the memory of those we lost not only with words, but with our actions, our service to others, and our dedication to making our communities and our nation stronger.
We will never forget September 11, 2001.
May God bless the families of those we lost, may God bless our first responders and military personnel, and may God continue to bless the United States of America.
